The pond I wanted to see.
I was in awe
When I saw—
Green water and algae staring at me.

The Kennedy Center I wanted to see.

When I saw—
A curtain, scaffolding and debris.

I took a trip to DC,
To the White House for a pardon.
I was in awe
When I saw—
The world’s first concrete Rose Garden.

And I was a little frightened.

When I saw—
At the White House, a bunch of guys fighting.

I took a trip to DC,
Lots of famous people to see.
I was in awe
When I saw—
Stormy sitting next to me.

I took a trip to DC,
The fair I wanted to see.
I was in awe
When I saw—
No power and melted ice cream for me.

I took a trip to DC,
To the White House I wanted to go.
I was in awe
When I saw—
No East Wing—just one huge hole.

I’d been shocked by my trip so far.

A huge plane shipped in from Qatar.
